Looking Back

All the activity in [livejournal.com profile] turimel's journal in this past week has had myself looking to see what people from the fandom are left on LJ. Not that I would want to be active in a fandom, but it would be nice to see the people again. I really wish I had started looking back a year ago, before [livejournal.com profile] slipperieslope left us. Sometimes it's hard to stay in contact with others when your interests begin to deviate so greatly.

I'm back in school full time, still trying to finish my bachelor's degree. I've also finally moved into a sleeper room on campus just to avoid the long commute from the suburbs everyday on public transit. I'm lucky that I live on a floor that has a lot of other people in their mid twenties to early thirties and everyone is friendly and talkative. This has forced me to be more social and I've started to carve out my own niche within the community.

If anyone is still around and reading this, I would love to catch up. I have neglected this place for so long that my journal appears abandoned. I'm going to try and work on this and we'll see what comes of it.

I don't post at this journal very often - I'm trying to feel comfortable doing so but it's hard. Most of the time I post at [livejournal.com profile] abject_reptile. It's nice to see you again. :)

It's wonderful to hear from you again! I think you're one of the few people I know that appreciates "library porn". I've had to move to a place that Will not accommodate my walls of bookshelves, so many of my books are being kept elsewhere. I neglected my librarything account for a while when things were crazy this past summer, but I think I've caught back up. I usually try to cull back when I hit 1,500. It's so great you have room for so many more.

I should have room but at the moment my brother is storing dozens of boxes, old computers, and who knows what else in my rec room and garage. They'll be there until he sells his house. Kindle has somewhat reduced my need to buy the 'real thing' (only because the books I want to buy are generally rare and available for free download) and Pinterest means that I can stare at book covers and whatnot even if I don't own them. :D
